What are Cocominos?
Did you know that Coconut Aminos are produced from the nectar or sap of the coconut blossom? These blossoms or inflorescence bloom every month on a coconut tree. The nectar is collected, combined with sea salt, then fermented and barrel-aged. This forms a brown liquid with a deep sweet-savoury flavour. There is no coconut taste.
Coconut Aminos are a great alternative to soy sauce. They have 65% less sodium with a similar taste to soy. Niiulife Coconut Aminos are gluten free, nut free, MSG free, GM free, chemical free, and vegan.
With minimal processing the sauce remains raw and enzymatically alive, making it far healthier for you. Fermented foods are becoming increasingly popular and are associated with gastrointestinal health.
And yes, Coconut Aminos contain several amino acids which are the basic building blocks of proteins. They are necessary for building muscle and producing hormones in the body.
Do not confuse Coconut Aminos with Liquid Aminos which is made by treating soybeans with an acidic chemical solution then neutralised with sodium bicarbonate.
Coconut Aminos are used to flavour food. Niulife has an extensive range of different Coconut Amino sauces which gives you the choice of adding them into an array of different cuisines. There are six liquid sauces and four Extra Thick sauces. The one named Naked is the best soy alternative and is FODMAP friendly!
Naked, Teriyaki, BBQ, Sweet Chilli, Vegan Fysh, and our famous Original with chilli, garlic, onion, and sun-dried mineral-rich sea salt are our liquid sauces.
